Information provided directly
A name, location, or other text entered into a search tool is sent to the independent provider that operates that tool. The site does not retain a separate copy of those search terms. Messages voluntarily sent through a publisher contact channel may include a name, email address, and the information supplied. Those messages are retained only as needed to respond, maintain records of the exchange, or meet legal obligations.
Technical information and cookies
Like most web services, the site and its service providers may receive routine technical data when a page loads.
- Internet protocol address
- Browser type and version
- Device type and operating system
- Pages viewed and time spent on them
- Referring site, if one exists
- Visit timestamps and basic diagnostic data
Cookies and comparable tools may be used to understand site traffic, remember limited preferences, measure advertising, and identify technical problems. Browser settings can block or delete cookies, although parts of a service may then work differently.
How information is used
Information is used to operate, secure, and improve the site, to route a request to a search partner when a visitor uses that tool, to understand page performance, and to investigate abuse or faults. It may also support advertising measurement and interest-based advertising on the systems of participating providers.
External sites
Links may lead to official sheriff, jail, court, corrections, and public-records services, as well as news and independent search resources. Once a visitor follows a link, that organization’s privacy terms apply. This policy does not control another organization’s content, tracking, security, or data retention. Advertising partners may collect activity across websites under their own policies.
Who may receive data
Personal information is not sold as a standalone product. It may be disclosed to search providers that process a query, analytics and hosting vendors, advertising networks, service providers assisting the site, or a government body when a valid legal order requires disclosure.
Security practices
Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used for the information handled by the site. No internet-connected system can promise complete security, however, and visitors send information at their own risk.
Visitors under 18
The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly seek information from children under 18. A parent, guardian, or other appropriate representative who believes a minor submitted personal information may request review and deletion through the publisher contact channel.
Choices and policy changes
A visitor may ask to review data held in a direct message, correct inaccurate contact information, request deletion where applicable, or opt out of certain processing that a provider offers. This policy may be revised as services, laws, or practices change. A revised version takes effect when posted here.
